ABOUT THE SCULPTURE

There is a dramatic encounter between heaven and earth in this work. By means of a geometrical idiom and a simple and dynamic composition, sculptor Bjørn Poulsen pictures a universal collision. Like a wedge from space thrown by a god (perhaps Thor, the god of thunder?).

Even if the elements are not recognized at first, they are in fact the archetypes of ceramics, the jar, the vase, and the plate meeting each other – right outside CLAY Museum of Ceramics.
